Kenta Matsushige is graduated from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in 2012. He lives and works in Paris.

We met him at Florence Deschamps’ showroom where he showed us his Hinabi womenswear collection with which he won the Grand Prix du Jury Première Vision at Hyères Festival.

The young Japanese designer Kenta Matsushige was inspired by the architecture of Japanese museums, the peace of the countryside and its traditions but also to the augmented reality videos that allow virtual 2D or 3D elements to be added to our natural perception of reality.

He created a contemporary interpretation of the kimono,  transforming it in a modern outfit.

What is surprising is the rigor of the cutting, the sculptured volumes and the beauty of the simplicity.
