Faustine Steinmetz is one of the new talents we met during the catwalks of London Fashion Week.
Born in Paris and London based, Faustine – before leaving for London- studied at the “Atelier Chardon Savard” in Paris then she decided to attend a master at Central Saint Martins in London. After many collaborations with Jeremy Scott and Henrik Vibskov, Faustine Steinmetz achieved her dream. In 2013 she created a her personal brand. An important goal that she reached thanks to her love for details and her passion for handcraft which are her distinctive features.
Faustine Steinmetz is an artist with a capitol “A” more than a contemporary fashion designer. She deals with each phase of her clothing production: from the creation of colors to textiles dying.
Her discovering of the past has brought her to London catwalks where she has showed a SS2015 collection which is fresh and young but also traditional. This collection is characterized by hand made, it draws its inspiration from handcraft and it wants to change people’s perception of garments creating clothes that we can wear every day in spite of their haute couture.
Denim as textil, hand made techniques such as hand knotting and the production of colors from green to dark blue. All these elements show us a complete artist that give us the rediscovery of street fashion through a unique and timeless collection.
A talented and day-dreamer artist who meets the past in order to cross the future. Not to be missed at all!
